DIY a journal bookmark - dashboard - calendar - tracker thingy

Sometimes we find solutions that are so simple and cover so many bases. For me, this project falls into that category.
​Basically, I needed to solve a few things regarding my TN journal planner setup:

• I wanted a way to easily flip to my current weekly spread in my planner
• I wanted a durable 2017 / 2018 at a glance calendar that I could reference when creating future weeklies (does that month have 30 or 31 days? Is the 1st on a Saturday in May? etc.)
• I wanted a surface I could stick post-it notes to that wouldn't lose them and wouldn't require that I pull them off in order to see the page underneath.

Here's a quick video showing you exactly how I made something that does all three.  The supplies you'll need are as follows: 

• Self-Laminating Sheet
  (get some here)
• Hole punch
• Elastic cording
• Printed calendar, task list, etc. trimmed to measure 4x6" or less

This same DIY dashboard is an amazing solution if you have a daily list or tracker that you repeat every day. Rather than redraw the framework over and over again, just draw, laminate, punch, string, and insert it into your journal as described above, then use a non-permanent marker to write / wipe clean your list each day.
